My Mind Is Slipping
This anonymous quote ‘My Mind Is Slipping’ from the On Being project, turned out to fittingly drive me creatively mad.
I thought a nice way of representing it musically would be to have chords playing notes that gradually shift relative to each other to slowly reveal different rhythms as the track progresses, and for the Atmos mix with Richard Burki those rhythms become paths through space around us as well. But in practice it was maddening to make the midi and maddening to deal with the melodic form as well. I resorted to multiple runs through pedals to try and lofi soften the feel of it.
Visually I chatted to Jean-Baptiste Friquet, who specialises in data moshing amongst other things, and we decided to tell the story of descent into madness on a global scale as a spreading datamosh infection.
