On Being by Max Cooper x Ksawery Komputery x Minjeong An

The debut launch of On Being as an interactive audio-visual installation at W1 Curates located at the heart of London’s iconic Oxford Street from 8-30 November 2024.

What do you want to express, which you feel you can't in everyday life?

I posed this question as part of my last album project, and received thousands of anonymous snapshots of our shared mind states.

These quotes were used as the seeds for the music and visual projects forming the On Being album to be released in February 2025 on Mesh, and are collected as part of the On Being installation.

When I first read the collection of submissions it hit me like a brick.

I had asked for the submissions as part of the last album with the idea to add them to mine and Ksawery’s previous installation project, but when I delved in it had such an emotional impact that I realised I had to make an album focused on them to do justice to the beauty and power of what everyone had provided.

Minjeong An’s epic self portrait of the technical system yielding us, became the backdrop to Ksawery’s real time rendering of the database of quotes along with new thoughts of those in attendance. It is a snapshot of our shared psyche, and hopefully of some use to all of us to share in our connected human condition.”
