Reflections of Being
My installation “Reflections of Being” is now being exhibited at the Barbican Centre in London from today until the end of August.
It’s a part of their Feel The Sound exhibition, which is full of great projects.
Reflections of Being came from the quotes submitted to my website which I made the recent On Being album from. Having started with those quotes and feelings as the source for music and visual collaborations I wanted to continue the conversation by putting you as the audience inside the visuals, quotes and music, using spatial audio and felt tactile sound benches (aka bum shakers) to wrap you in the feelings.
Your shadows become windows through semi transparent layers to find other audience looking back as the anonymous sources of the anonymous quotes.
Aside from the ideas behind it, I tried to design it as something fun to explore and interact with, I hope you enjoy it and find something to connect with in the exhibition if you have a chance to visit.
Many thanks to the Barbican and to all of you,
Max
